It almost seems his path was predetermined. Growing up in the southernmost part of Germany, in the most beautiful part of Bavaria, the Chiemgau with its lakes and
forests, the royal castle Herrenchiemsee and the surrounding mountains of the Bavarian Alps, it seemed predetermined to dedicate oneself to winter sports. In his childhood, ice hockey was the
dominant sport in Rosenheim hosting a first league team alongside skiing. Great, exciting games, enthusiastic spectators, simply a fascinating team sport. Of course, one of theses days he wanted
to experience this exciting atmosphere down there on the ice as sports pro himself.
It all started at the age of six years, it got him through all junior teams of the local ice hockey world.
At some point he found himself in the selection teams and then the question arose as to whether he wanted to make this his profession. And suddenly, at the
age of 17, he had signed his first professional contract and devoted himself to hockey. This opportunity gave him two years in Canada, the motherland of ice hockey and after his return to perform
314 games in the top German hockey league.
An injury opened the door for him to switch sides in hockey, the media. During the long rehabilitation phase he had his first experiences behind microphone and in
front of the camera and felt quite comfortable. Regardless of whether you are commenting on DEL games or producing your own broadcast on Franken-TV. The sport remained the same, just the
perspective has changed.
At exactly the right time, a new door has opened for him and he became the host for the German Ice Hockey League at "ServusTV" section of "Red Bull Media House". He
then followed the TV rights to „thinXpool TV“ as host, commentator, TV expert, producer and social media supervisor.
In the meantime, diversity has become both a challenge and an incentive. His extensive social media platforms on Facebook and Instagram are now enjoying cult
status, probably mainly due to the regular interaction with fans of the German Ice Hockey League, where he reports on the latest news and incidents keeping his community up to date. The core
brand is now covered by the company "PE 25 Media Pool". PE stands not only as a name abbreviation but also for

To ensure not loosing touch to the ice, he took the first course to become a licensed goalkeeper coach at the Deutscher Eishockey-Bund and is now following his
passion to pass on the experience gained in professional sports to future generations. Either as a goalie coach for junior teams or as a personal coach for established goalkeepers to help them
achieve their goals. In addition, Patrick also hosts special events on various occasions. The aim is to create exceptional moments that will stay in your memory and add an unforgettable touch to
every event. Patrick Ehelechner is currently commenting on DEL games or is booked as an expert and co-host for Telekom Sport, Sport 1 and Eurosport. The definite winter highlight 2018 took place
in February, when he joined Eurosport to cover Olympic ice hockey at the Olympic Games in Pyeongchang.
